What is Fitness?

Aptitude is a feminine noun that appoints the capacity of the apt, that is, one who has the ability to perform a task in the right way. From Latin "aptitude" meaning "capable of".They are synonyms of aptitude: competence, dexterity, ability, and ability.

General Fitness

General fitness, as defined includes a healthy and nutritious diet, activity, rest and relaxation, and mental stability and well-being into one's daily lifestyle. This intends to provide a number of different tips and approaches that can be immediately into virtually any lifestyle, regardless of age and current level of health.

General Fitness

 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that nearly one-third of all are obese. Most individuals have a certain perception in their minds of what "getting healthy" involves.

Physical Aptitude

A physical fitness test aims to verify, through the execution of specific exercises, if the individual has the motor skills necessary for the subsequent performance of certain activities.

On the other hand, aptitude is a concept of biology that is used in the theory of evolution. The word allows us to describe the ability to reproduce an individual or animal with a certain genotype. The aptitude is equal to the proportion of the individual's genes in the total genes of the next generation. 

When there are differences between the various genotypes that affect fitness, genotype frequencies begin to vary over the generations, in a process known as natural selection.

Physical Aptitude

 Physical fitness is related to health when considering cardiorespiratory endurance, body composition, skeletal muscle fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility.

Physical fitness is related to the athletic performance taking into account the specificity of each modality performed. It is convenient to distinguish the use of the term in its colloquial language in psychology. In ordinary language, aptitude refers to a person's ability to perform a task correctly.

Physical Activity

Younger students had better grades in Mathematics and Portuguese than the older ones, the same was not true in the discipline of Visual Education. Individuals with lower BMI, male and older tend to get better results in terms of aerobic fitness.

The present study aimed to analyze the evolution and characterization of physical fitness levels (Apt F), anthropocentric, demographics, and explanatory variables of cardiorespiratory fitness, as well as the cognitive performance, of both sexes, aged between 12 and 15 years of the Western Region of Continental Portugal.

 The sample consisted of 152 female participants and 149 male participants, totaling 301 students. In Mathematics and Portuguese, the younger students obtained significantly better scores than their older classmates, the same is not true in the subject of Visual Education. Individuals with lower BMI, males, and older tend to get better results in terms of aerobic fitness. Their ages are between the ages of 12 and 15 and they attended the 7th, 8th, and 9th years of schooling.
